A Blackburn store is expected to shut within days as part of the closures of the chain nationwide.

Carpetright, which sells floor covers and beds, has been bought in a rescue deal by rival Tapi.

But despite this, 200 stores and 1,000 jobs are expected to go in the following days.

The deal will not save the majority of the business and 213 stores are expected to close.

Among those included is the one in Blackburn on Nova Scotia Retail Park at Bolton Road.

Stores also due to shut in Lancashire are on Cherry Tree Road, Blackpool,  and Mariners Way, Preston.

Others nearby which are expected to close include ones in Altrincham, Ashton under Lyne, Bolton, Trafford Park, and Manchester as well as Rochdale.
