*UPDATE: Grace has now been found*

A mum has issued an urgent plea as her daughter, from Skelmersdale, has not been seen for six days.

Grace Ditchfield, 16, has not been seen since last Tuesday, July 16.

Her mum Caitriona Marsh is concerned for her welfare and says she has no clean clothes or money.

Caitriona said she left home at around 11am on July 16 and said she was going to stay at a friend’s house.

On Wednesday, Caitriona spoke to her on the phone. She has since made phone calls and sent text messages to loved ones but is yet to return home or reveal where she is.

The last known text message sent from Grace’s phone was sent on Sunday (July 21).

Caitriona said: “I last spoke to her on Wednesday evening I was trying to ask her where she was but she kept repeating the same sentence to me which was 'mum, I am safe'.

“I want her to know that she is not in any trouble. I just want to know where she is and if she is with anyone.

“If anyone knows where she is, or if she is with you, please let someone know. You can message me or contact Skelmersdale Police.”

Grace has hazel eyes, dark blonde hair, a distinctive mole on the palm of one of her hands and she is around 5ft5.

Lancashire Police has been approached for more information.
