A Burnley man has been jailed after flashing passengers, including a child, on trains in Lancashire earlier this year.

Kane Hargreaves, 28, has been locked up after a jury found him guilty of two counts of exposure on June 28 at Preston Crown Court.

The first offence committed by Hargreaves, of Elizabeth Street, Burnley, occurred on April 10, when Hargreaves stared and and exposed himself to a 21-year-old woman who was sat a few seats away on a train from Preston to Bradford in the middle of the afternoon.

The woman moved away after the exposure and told rail staff, before reporting it to British Transport Police.

He was at it again on April 22, this time on a lunchtime train from Preston to Accrington, when he exposed himself to a 17-year-old girl.

This week, Hargreaves was sentences to nine months in prison for the offences, and ordered to pay a £187 surcharge to fund victims services.

British Transport Police's investigating officer DC Ella Harvey said:  "We will stop at nothing to deter, pursue, arrest and bring sex offenders on the railway network to justice.

"We urge everyone to save 61016 to their phones and download the Railway Guardian before you travel so you can discreetly get in touch with us if you need us.

"We take all reports of sexual assault seriously."
