This Eleanor Street facility aims to provide exceptional care and support for older adults.

The site has already welcomed its first four community members, who have quickly settled into their new home.

Their families and friends have expressed “relief and satisfaction” with the transition, noting the “warm, welcoming environment” and the “high standard of care” provided.

One family member said: "This is the first time in two years I have seen my dad participating in activities.

“The environment here is like a five-star hotel. The team is always smiling, and nothing is too much trouble."

Another said: "It’s wonderful to see my dad sitting on the balcony having a cup of tea. He hasn’t been out of his room in a long time."

The opening of Acer Lodge is also said to have strengthened community ties.

"Since opening, we have supported the local council by accommodating new residents and collaborating with the social work team to explore the services we offer," said Christopher Durnan, home manager at Acer Lodge.
