A Carnforth hall will be disrupted by the ringing of high horsepower this summer for the Leighton Hall Motorcycle Hill Climb.

Leighton Hall's adrenaline-charged spectacle opens at 8.30am on Sunday, July 28.

Practice runs begin at 9.30am and around 150 competitive race sprints commence from 1pm.

The challenge-filled 220-metre uphill track includes a sharp 60-degree bend just 50 metres from the start, requiring racers to accelerate up to speeds of 100mph.

There are no restrictions on engine size or speed.

Adding to the excitement, all bikes are welcomed to the competition, irrespective of model, including vintage, modern, and even mopeds.

With no age barriers, the event is the perfect platform for seasoned racers and beginners to show off their skills and soak in the atmosphere.

Spectators will have the chance to mingle with numerous exhibitors such as the MAG (Motorbike Action Group), TRF (Trail Riders Federation) and the Mental Health Motorbike, a community supporting mental health within the UK's biker community.

The event is kept secure and under control by Marshals North West.

The group is a not-for-profit marshalling club that ensures safe race events while simultaneously raising funds for charitable causes, including North West Air Ambulance and North West Blood Bikes.

Marshals North West Secretary, Michael Clear, said: "It’s an honour to marshal at this exhilarating and much-loved event.

"With the historic hall and Lakeland fells as a backdrop, there’s nothing else like this on the racing calendar."

Advance tickets are priced at £8 and on-the-day tickets at £10, including access to the gardens and tea rooms of Leighton Hall.
