A Blackburn teenager is to host a series of interviews with people across the borough.

Aleeza Isa, 16, hosted the 1V Awards Dinner and the Christmas Lights Switch On in 2023. Now she is due to present her own talk show as part of the charity’s fundraising efforts.

'Aleeza Isa Interviews' will be launched in early September 2024 as part of a live show, which is then shown on the One Voice YouTube channel.

Since the charity was founded 13 years ago, 1,124 young people have benefitted from their unique services.

1V chief executive Zaffer Khan said: “Our approach is unique. We run numerous groups and provide targeted support to help young people in particular to reach their potential. We pay attention to aspirational families and children.

“We are looking for business and community leaders to step forward and support this important work and become a One Voice Supporter.”

Aleeza Isa will be interviewing Zaffer in the very first programme, alongside the young people of One Voice in front of a live audience of 120 specially invited guests in Blackburn’s Hornby Lecture Theatre.

Zaffer added: “It won’t be quite Graham Norton but it is our aim to make a big deal out of this, like we do for our Awards Dinner or cohesion events. And as ever the young people will be front and centre of the stage."

Aleeza said: “What I love about One Voice is that they have absolutely no hesitation in putting us forward for events and programmes such like this, but to have a show in my name is just a little bit crazy.”
