Three men are wanted by police over a "suspected arson" following a fire at a business unit.

The fire happened at a unit at Brook Mill, Branch Road, Lower Darwen, at around 12.30am yesterday (July 16).

Four fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen, as well as the aerial ladder platform from Preston, were called to the scene while Lancashire Police placed a road closure on Branch Road in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The road reopened at around 2pm after the fire service had finished clearing asbestos material from the road.

Police say nobody has been arrested at this time but they would like to speak to the three men pictured.

A police spokesperson said: "Do you recognise these three men?

"We want to speak to them about a suspected arson in Lower Darwen.

"It happened at an industrial unit at Brook Mill, Branch Road, at around 12.30am today.

"Nobody has been arrested at this time. Our enquiries are ongoing.

"We know the image isn’t the best but we believe if you know the men you will be able to recognise them from it.

"We would also ask anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage covering that area of Lower Darwen in the early hours of this morning to check it to see if they have captured these two men."

A fire service statement at the time of the incident said: "Four fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen, along with the aerial ladder from Preston, attended an incident on Branch Road, Blackburn.

"The fire involved a single-storey commercial building.

"Firefighters used three jets, three breathing apparatus, and one triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire."
