Two of the most expensive streets in Blackburn are only a half a mile away from one another, whilst the cheapest street might surprise you.

A list of the most expensive streets in the town has been shared by fast sales company Property Solvers which tracked average sold price data from HM Land Registry since 2019 to see where the highest and lowest-priced homes are located across the Blackburn postcodes.

Amongst the top 10 most expensive streets, five were listed in Wilpshire, and only one in the Beardwood area of the town.

According to the data which only measures recent property sales, the most expensive street was said to be Ribchester Road, which falls under the BB1 postcode, with five properties sold for an average of £587,400.

Some of the streets on the list have a Blackburn postcode but lie within Ribble Valley Council boundaries and not within Blackburn with Darwen borough. The cheapest streets are listed within Blackburn itself.

Wyfordby Avenue (BB2), in the Beardwood area, came in second on the list and had six properties sold for an average of £544,500.

Just off Preston New Road, Meins Road came in fourth and is renowned for having some of the largest homes in the town. Here average prices were £510,000 after three recent property sales.

Whalley Road (BB1) saw three properties sell for an average of £531,666.

The cheapest streets in town saw property sales average out for around £48,000, which is not likely to buy you a small shed in London.

Some of the cheapest streets include Witton Parade (BB2) (where four properties sold for an average of £48,625), Walsh Street (BB2) (where four properties sold for an average of £49,625) and Stansfeld Street (BB2) (where four properties sold for an average of £53,250).

Co-founder of Property Solvers, Ruban Selvanayagam, said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had more than three sales.

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property in Knowsley Road (BB1) sold for £960,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £39,500 and under in Hancock Street (BB2), Carluke Street (BB2) and Accrington Road (BB2).”

The list of the most expensive streets may have a BB1 postcode but some lie within the Ribble Valley

Note the list includes only property sales since 2019
