The NSPCC is scouting for volunteers for an upcoming high-octane event centred around the 'world's most powerful motor sport.'

Slated to take place over three days from August 23 to August 25, the European Tractor Pulling Committee Eurocup will be hosted by the North West Tractor Pulling Club at Great Eccleston showground on Garstang Road.

The event will raise funds for the NSPCC.

Last year, the competition pulled in a crowd of around 10,000 people over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The event features vintage and modified tractors pulling heavy drags and sleds, with some machines producing in excess of 9,000 horsepower, and the winner being the tractor that pulls its load the furthest.

Other features of the programme include monster trucks, farm tractors, live music, DJ sets and kids' entertainment.

The NSPCC seeks volunteers to help with parking, bucket collecting and selling raffle tickets.

Marufi Upoma, NSPCC North West fundraising executive, said: "This is going to be a brilliant day out and we hope the event will see lots of donations to the NSPCC."

"Volunteers will receive free food and drink for helping at the event and also a free ticket worth £28 on the day for an opportunity to see this exciting sport."

"Volunteers can attend only one of the shifts or volunteer for the entire day or across all three days."

Those interested in offering their help can contact Ms Upoma via email at marufi.upoma@nspcc.org.uk.
