A man who was involved in the large-scale supply of drugs worth more than £400,000 has been jailed.

Kamaran Hayat, 28, was stopped by police in his blue BMW in Blackburn in January last year and officers found wraps of cocaine on him.

As a result, Lancashire Police’s Operation Gaskett then uncovered a catalogue of messages on Hayat’s phone, suggesting he was involved in the supply of cocaine on the ‘Kammy’ line.

Hayat even handed over control of the phone to an associate while he went on holiday to Morocco.

One estimate of the value of the drugs line was more than £400,000.

Hayat, of Walsh Street, Blackburn, was convicted of being concerned in the supply of cocaine between December 18, 2022 and September 12, 2023.

Today (July 12) at Burnley Crown Court, he was jailed for nine years.

Detective Sergeant Stu Peall, of Lancashire Police's East Exploitation Team, said: “We will continue to target those involved in drug supply in our communities and who prey on the vulnerable for their own greed.

“I hope that seeing these results encourages people to continue to report suspicious activity, either directly to the police or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
