A stolen moped has been returned to its rightful owner after being found by Blackburn with Darwen police.

Last night (July 11), a moped was spotted by officers on foot patrol. It was previously reported for being driven in an anti-social manner.

Officers said the rider was “oblivious” to their presence meaning they were able to intercept and seize the moped.

A police spokesperson said: “This stolen [vehicle] is going home to its rightful owner.

“Last night the below moped was spotted by Neighbourhood Officers on foot patrol. The vehicle was recognised due to previously being reported for driving in an anti-social manner.

“With the element of surprise and an oblivious rider, officers intercepted the moped which was seized and recovered.

“One happy owner will now be reunited with their wheels and neighbourhood officers are now better informed of where these vehicles are congregating.”
