A man attacked his partner after becoming "hyper” because his medication had not been delivered.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Josh Southern was caught on CCTV dragging his partner to the floor by her hair and punching her repeatedly.
The attack only stopped when another woman intervened and Southern left.
Southern, 27, of Maple Avenue, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to assault and was bailed for a pre-sentence report.
Victoria Forrest, prosecuting, said police received an abandoned 999 call from a female.
Their investigations led them to the victim but she was not prepared to make a statement or support the prosecution.
“The evidence is from CCTV footage which captured the incident,” said Miss Forrest.
She said footage showed a young woman on the street making what had been identified as the abandoned 999 call.
While she was on the phone a vehicle pulled up alongside her and the defendant got out and grabbed her by the hair.
“She was pulled to the floor and he punched her as she was being pulled along by her hair,” said Miss Forrest.
“Another female appears on the scene and tries to break them up, and at that point, he walks away. She has provided a statement to police which supports what the CCTV shows.
Janet Sime, mitigating, said her client had overreacted when his medication was not delivered on time.
“The officer who attended said there were no injuries,” said Miss Sime.
