A fire in Accrington is “under investigation” after four fire engines descended yesterday (July 10).

At around 3.40pm, four fire engines from Hyndburn, Blackburn, and Darwen attended a commercial building fire on Charter Street.

Firefighters extinguished a fire inside a single-storey.

Crews were in attendance for fifty minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 3.42 hours, four fire engines from Hyndburn, Blackburn, and Darwen attended a commercial building fire on Charter Street, Accrington.

“Firefighters extinguished a fire inside a single-storey unit using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel.

“Crews were in attendance for 50 minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
