Apprentice star Camilla Ainsworth was in Blackburn to unveil the new-look Specsavers store which has undergone a £175,000 makeover.

Specsavers, which is located in The Mall has just completed a two-week-long renovation.

The store, which has been located in the town centre for 35 years, was only closed for two days. Much of the work took place after hours.

The renovations include a new, easy-to-navigate layout, improved consulting rooms, LED-illuminated frame displays and a digital screen. There has also been a complete redecoration of the store.

Store director, Amanda Jeewooth, said: ‘‘We can’t thank Camilla enough for squeezing us into her busy schedule and officially opening the store.  Her enthusiasm gave the whole team a real boost.

“Our revamped store is the perfect base for our expert colleagues to continue to look after the people of Blackburn and Darwen’s vision and hearing needs.”

In 2018, Camilla became the youngest-ever finalist on BBC’s The Apprentice series at the age of 22.

Camilla said: “Being a long-standing Specsavers customer and a glasses and contact lens wearer, I know how important it is to be able to easily access eye care in your community.

"I will continue to visit for my recommended eye tests every two years.”
