An investigation has been launched after firefighters spent an hour tackling a fire involving three caravans.

Two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Bacup were called to Holland Avenue, Rawtenstall, at around 10.15am today.

They spent just over an hour bringing the fire under control.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Bacup attended a fire involving three caravans off Holland Avenue, Rawtenstall.

"Firefighters used two hose reels to bring the fire under control and cool the cylinders and were in attendance for just over one hour.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
