A Lancashire town has been named among the UK’s best seaside towns when it comes to amusements.

Introducing the list, OLBG said: “A UK seaside holiday is not complete without a visit to the Pier and the amusement arcade to grab a toy or traditionally play a fruit machine instead of playing online slots at home. But there are a host of other considerations, and we have taken them all and put together the ultimate UK holiday entertainment index.

“Here’s a look at some of the best seaside towns for holiday entertainment, considering the number of activities, the cost, and the weather.”

To make the list, the company used several data sources including Tripadvisor and Google Maps.

While Blackpool was ranked in 45th place in the list of best seaside towns for holiday entertainment, it came in joint 2nd place for being the best for amusements alongside Bridlington - both locations have 14 arcades.

The research also revealed that Blackpool is the most-searched for seaside town with 81,600 annual Google searches.

OLBG said: “The most popular seaside town on Google is Blackpool, with over 81,000 searches in the last year. Blackpool is renowned for its vibrant history and iconic landmarks like Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, and the Illuminations.”

On Tripadvisor, Blackpool Pleasure Beach has earned a 4-star rating from 15,074 reviews at the time of writing.
