A supermarket with stores in East Lancashire has won 42 medals at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards.

Booths, the family-owned store with locations in Clitheroe, Longridge and Barrowford, won 16 gold, 14 silver, and 12 medals at the event held at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire.

Among the 16 gold medal-winning cheeses were Booths’ brand lines of Crumbly Lancashire, Cheddar, Organic Stilton, Grana Padano, and sliced Edam, with their Reblochon and Soft White Goat’s Cheese also taking gold.

The company’s cheese buyer, Alan Kirby, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with our Booths wins at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards.

"This is a real credit to the skill and dedication of our cheesemakers, both in our Northern heartland and further afield.”

As well as in East Lancashire, Booths has stores in Preston and Chorley, as well as further afield in Lancashire and the North West.
