Shadsworth Secondary Modern School, Backburn, 1957
This photo was taken in 1957 shortly before East Lancashire’s newest school was due to open.
It shows the main building of the new Shadsworth Secondary Modern School, Blackburn in Blackburn which would open on September 3 of that year.
On opening it catered for 510 pupils. Shadsworth would later merge with Queen’s Park High School to become Everton High School. It would later become Blakewater College.
