A much-loved restaurant will be flying the flag for East Lancashire at a major awards ceremony.

Freya’s Grill first opened in Darwen in July 2022 and has proven to be a big hit with customers from all over the town and further afield since then.

After branching out into curries Freya’s Grill is now the only Indian restaurant in Blackburn with Darwen to be nominated for the Curry Life Awards 2024 and has become a finalist in this year's English Curry Awards.

Manager Naz Islam said: “We couldn’t have done this without our amazing customers so our thanks really go out to them and we’re really happy that we’ve helped to create such memorable experiences for them.

“Now we need people’s help to take our place among the top Indian restaurants in the country.”

He added: “Let’s show that our local favourite can match up to the country’s finest Indian eateries!"

Since opening two years ago Freya’s Grill, found on Duckworth Street opposite the Lidl in Darwen town centre has proven a popular choice of venue.

Mr Islam hopes to take this to the next level with a win at the Curry Life Awards, which will honour the best chefs, restaurants and takeaways in the country.

Customers can support Freya’s Grill by scanning cards on the restaurant tables or by searching the Curry Life Awards and going to the customer nominations section.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Sunday October 13.
