Lancashire is set to become a foodie haven this summer with seven tasty events for you to get your teeth into.

The county has some of the UK's highest-rated restaurants with produce ranging from award-winning honey to bespoke-to-the-region beer and spirits.

Taste Lancashire Market National Festival of Making, Blackburn, July 6 and 7.

The free event mixes art, manufacturing, music, workshops, and performances with food and drink.

The Taste Lancashire Market will present some of the county's award-winning produce.

Mr Fitzpatrick’s Vintage Cordials, Mrs Dowsons Ice Cream, The Bee Centre, The Three Wheel Gin Company, and Bowes Dairy are a few of the businesses offering visitors a taste experience.

Ormskirk Gingerbread Festival on July 14.

The town plans to celebrate its historical connection to gingerbread with live entertainment, heritage-themed stalls, and special menu items.

Ormskirk Gingerbread dates back to the 1700s and cafes, bars and restaurants will be providing themed menu items to mark the event.

Thousands are expected to join in the festivities.

Ribble Valley Taste Festival from August 5-9

The event builds on the success of the Clitheroe Food Festival and adds gin-tasting sessions and brewery tours to the mix.

Palate-pleasing goings-on will be happening across various locations in the valley.

Clitheroe Food Festival August 10

Returning on August 10 with 80 local producers ready to treat punters with grub ranging from seafood to Indian food to sweet treats, organisers say the esteemed event is worth it for the smells alone.

In addition to the food, there are many different beers and spirits to choose from, with a few only available in the area.

Colne Food and Drink Festival July 27

The free-to-attend day offers local food and drink and a man vs sausage competition.

Including a 50-stall artisan market and street food arena the festival will also feature street demonstrations.

Workshops will include pizza making and children’s crafts, and there will be live entertainment throughout the day.

Lowther’s Food and Drink Festival in Lytham on August 24-26.

The event at Lowther Gardens will have food and drink, plus free entertainment, a creative crafts Marquee, and a funfair guaranteed to keep the kids happy.

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday the gardens provide a stunning backdrop to the fun.

Fylde Coast Food & Drink Festival in Fleetwood on September 1.

The 12th-anniversary celebration of this free event serves up a wide variety of local food and beverages, promising a great time for all the family.

There will be lots of sample-and-buy from a huge range of local producers, including coffee and cake, sausage and snacks, cider, luxury spirits and more.
