Ever fancied running a pub? Thwaites Brewery has released a list of its East Lancs boozers currently up for grabs.
Founded in Blackburn in 1807 by Daniel Thwaites, the company owns around 270 pubs in the North.
The now Mellor-based brewery is famous for its Wainwright beers and Lancaster Bomber, among others.
The Ivy Hotel on Infirmary Road is the only Blackburn vacancy on the list and is currently under offer.
The Brewery describes it as a “stand-alone building located close to Ewood Park”.
They add: “Internally there is a good-sized bar, a pool/darts area, a catering kitchen, and an open fire.
“To the rear, there is a beer garden and a children’s park.
“The living accommodation consists of two bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate bathroom. There is an upper floor to the living accommodation which isn’t currently in use, this contains a further two bedrooms.”
Across the border in Hyndburn, the Hare and Hounds, Clayton-le-Moors – which has a large refurbishment planned – is available for a budding pub boss to take over.
Thwaites say the hostelry benefits from “a great kerb appeal” on Whalley Road.
The overview adds: “The pub focuses on the community with drink offers, entertainment and live sports.
“There is a commercial catering kitchen which provides fresh local produce. The living accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, lounge, a bathroom and a kitchen.”
The pub also has rear-side parking and outdoor seating.
Another Hyndburn premise Thwaites need someone to snap up is the Griffins Head in Huncoat.
The popular haunt has an exterior refurbishment planned.
Thwaites say: “The pub has an open plan layout for both drinking and dining. There is a large central bar, a fully equipped catering kitchen, an attractive beer garden and a good sized car park.
“Living accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom.”
Tockholes’ Rock Inn is the final East Lancashire pub on Thwaites’ vacancy list.
It’s described as a “beautiful rural pub” in Tockholes village, two miles from Darwen, by Thwaites
“The pub is beautifully decorated and a roaring open fire instantly gives a warm welcome,” Thwaites says.
