A children’s soft play centre, in Brierfield, has been named the best in the UK and the manager says this is “just the beginning” for the business.
FUNDA LAND recently came home with the UK’s best indoor attraction award, at the AIP Industry Awards.
This award celebrates the businesses’ “commitment to reshaping children's futures” both in and out of school by promoting active, healthy lifestyles that last a lifetime.
The center includes a two floor UV lazer tag zone, bumper cars, giant soft play, three private themed party rooms and has recently expanded its offerings to include a new Valo Interactive Climbing Wall.
There is also a baby and toddler sensory play area and the business offers a holistic PE programme, active curriculum, holiday camps and wraparound childcare offer for schools.
"At FUNDA LAND, we're committed to making that a reality," said Kieran Fletcher, founder and creative director.
He said: "Every child deserves a chance to play and thrive, irrespective of their background.
"The UK government needs to recognise the potential of initiatives like FUNDA to EMPOWER children of today and in the future.
"We are making a positive difference here and now, I want children and families to know the importance of active play is to their child’s development.”
FUNDA LAND says the award reaffirms its aim to provide “innovative active and creative spaces where children can escape the confines of poverty and screen-based isolation” to discover the joy and benefits of creative active play.
General manager, Adam Kershaw, said: "We are extremely proud to receive this award. It has been a massive team effort and so much hard work has been put in by everyone.
“To receive such a prestigious award in just our second year just shows what a massive difference we are making in not just our local community but in the UK as a whole.
"We cannot wait for next year's awards and we are already planning to enter more categories. This is just the beginning for the award-winning FUNDA LAND!"
