Police have warned of some traffic disruption on the A682 today (June 21), as the funeral of a 10-year-old boy takes place.

The farming community is coming together for a tractor procession, after the death of 10-year-old Thomas Bull.

Thomas Bull died on June 10, following a “tragic accident at his family home”. Police say this was a quadbike accident.

His parents asked members of the farming community to join them for “one last tractor run”.

There will be a procession, led by two steam engines and a number of tractors travelling on the A682 from Paythorne to Pendle, which may cause disruption.

The procession started at around 11am, from The Buck Country Pub, in Kiln Lane, Paythorne, and it is set to last into the early afternoon.

Officers have urged the public to drive respectfully.

A police spokesperson said: “We want to make you aware of some potential traffic disruption on the A682 this morning and into the early afternoon.

“Today, the family, friends, and loved ones of 10-year-old Thomas Bull, who sadly died on June 10, after a quadbike accident, will say goodbye to him at his funeral.

“There will be a procession, led by two steam engines and a number of tractors travelling on the A682 from Paythorne to Pendle.

“We know that this may cause a disruption to your route, and we are informing you now, to ask that you plan accordingly.

“Please drive respectfully of the vehicles on the road, and more importantly, Thomas’ loved ones.”

The funeral service is set to take place at St Mary’s Church in Newchurch, on Friday, June 21. A private cremation, at Skipton Crematorium, will follow.
