Temporary traffic lights have been lifted on a busy route into Blackburn.
Work was being conducted this week on a section of road on Bank Top, close to the Tesco Express.
Traffic heading into and out of town was affected with long delays for motorists, especially at rush hour. It was particularly causing delays for parents and pupils heading to St Wilfrid’s CofE Academy.
Drivers had been forced to take detours to avoid the road causing further delays for anyone heading to the recycling centre on George Street West.
The work has now been complete.
