A Blackburn opticians based within the Mall is set to undergo a two-week renovation.
Specsavers has been located within the town centre for 35 years.
It will close for two days, with the remainder of the work taking place after hours meaning the store can remain open as long as possible throughout the process.
The store said the makeover will see the installation of improved consulting rooms, new LED illuminated frame displays and a new digital screen as well as a new layout.
Specsavers Blackburn store director, Amanda Jeewooth, said: "We’re really excited about these changes.
"The improvement works demonstrate our desire to bring the best possible service to the people of Blackburn and Darwen.
"We believe the investment will bring real benefits to our customers, combining the latest eye care, hearing care and retail technology to provide a highly professional and ultra-modern service."
Over the past four decades, Specsavers said it had been 'committed to investing in and staying at the forefront of optical and audiology technology and trends'.
