A huge search is under way for a teenager from East Lancashire who went missing after attending a music festival in Tenerife with friends.
Jay Slater, 19, from Oswaldtwistle, last spoke to his friend Lucy, from Burnley, at around 8.50am on Monday (June 17).
Here is everything we know so far:
- Jay had travelled to Tenerife in the Canary Islands for the New Rave Generation (NRG) music festival which was held at the weekend.
- The apprentice bricklayer decided to stay with some people he met while on a night out, not realising how far away they lived from where he was staying. He then attempted to walk back to his accommodation.
- Jay rang Lucy at 8.50am on Monday, saying he was lost in a mountain. He said he needed a drink of water and had 1% battery on his phone.
- Jay sent a pinpoint of his location just before his phone battery ran out. His last known location was near Rural de Teno Park - a rugged and mountainous area in the remote northwest corner of Tenerife.
- Jay's friends alerted the emergency services and a missing person appeal was launched.
- Worried friends, family and well-wishers have been sharing the appeal extensively and a Facebook group 'Missing jay slater' has more than 27,000 members at the time of writing.
- Lucy told the Lancashire Telegraph Jay's disappearance is out of character and said: “I have never been so worried in my life."

- He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt (originally reported as white), trainers and a black bag. He is slim, with brown hair and blue eyes.
- Jay's mum, Debbie, has flown to Tenerife to search for him and told the BBC the Spanish authorities have deployed mountain rescue and dog units.
- The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office are providing consular support to Jay's family and are in contact with the local authorities.
- There have been reports of scammers setting up GoFundMe pages purporting to be helping Jay's family with costs such as flights. At the time of writing, there are no such official fundraising pages set up.
- A spokesperson for the Civil Guard in Tenerife said emergency crews are doing 'everything possible' to trace the teenager.
- A police helicopter has been spotted over the mountainous area.
