Lindsey Bell, a hiker determined to smash a new Guinness World Record, reaches Lancashire this weekend.
Set to be the first solo female to complete a circumnavigation of the mainland British coast, Ms Bell's attempt expects to cover 7,178.7 miles in 306 days.
Subtracting her rest days, she will complete her feat in 276 days, equalling a marathon covered per day.
Adding in ascents of Great Britain's three highest peaks - Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis - her record-breaking endeavour is aiming for a "why not?" factor.
Her journey started from Greenwich Park on March 1 and has seen her rambling her way to the Fylde coast.
Her journey includes breaks sponsored by The Inn Collection Group, with her first one being Offshore in St Annes.
Morecambe’s Midland Hotel, another stop in her itinerary, marks the last western stop with the group until they reconnect in autumn.
Lindsey is not only testing her physical limits but is also raising funds for Mind and National Trails.
She targets to raise £26,000 in the process.
By establishing a new world record, she aims to gather more robust support and respect for mental health.
Additionally, she aspires to safeguard the future of every National Trail in the UK.
She said: "My love of the outdoors began the day I could walk but rocketed when Covid hit and hiking with nature has taught me, ‘I am only limited by the limits I place upon myself’.
"The moment I discovered the outdoors life and its inspiring community I became part of something far greater than me and that is what inspired me to attempt this record."
Lindsey added: "I’m eternally grateful to The Inn Collection Group and the wider hospitality sector who have gifted me multiple night stays to make this challenge possible and am looking forward to my stays with them at their beautiful inns."
Andrew Robson, PR & communications manager for The Inn Collection Group, said: "We’re delighted to have been able to offer her accommodation on the West and East coasts and look forward to helping Lindsey unwind and recharge at the end of some intense days throughout the challenge."
