Nominations are open for Lancashire's best teacher, with £1000 up for grabs for the winning school.

The digital collections platform, Collection Pot, has joined forces with Fun Kids Radio in hunting for top teachers in a UK-wide initiative.

The scheme aims to celebrate the dedication of staff across the nation and calls on parents and children to nominate their favourite teacher.

Applicants are encouraged to provide reasons as to why their teacher or other staff member deserves to be crowned the winner.

Whether the nominee has set up a unique breakfast club or inspired students to chase their dreams, Collection Pot wants to hear all about it.

The winning entry, decided July 5, will also receive a £250 Collection Pot for the teacher, and a £250 Visit Britain gift card for the parent or guardian.

Mike Smith, chief marketing officer at Collection Pot, said: "Every year we see thousands of parents up and down the country creating pots to thank their child’s teacher.

"This year we wanted to hear more about the amazing teachers we come across and share their stories."

Collection Pot originated to eliminate pointless gift-giving and excessive waste.

The platform has assisted millions of group collections for various events such as job departures, birthdays, and honeymoons.
