A large fire has ripped through a commercial building in Lancashire with 10 fire engines called to the scene.

Crews were called just after 11.30pm last night (June 7) to the property in Warbreck Hill Road, Blackpool.

The fire service said "numerous specialist appliances" were also called to respond and fire crews remain on the scene this morning.

Road closures are in place around the area to help keep drivers and the emergency services safe.

Warbreck Hill Road to the junctions with Devonshire Road and Hollyoak Avenue, and Bispham Road to the junction with Hayfield Avenue, are closed until further notice.

The fire service has also warned people living nearby to keep their windows and doors closed and to avoid the area.

Justin Johnson, chief fire officer for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, said in a post on X: "Significant fire in Blackpool with over 50 firefighters and specialist appliances.

"Great to see the new command unit in action in coordination with the drones and appliance iPads giving helpful situational awareness for the crews and officers working across the site.

"Good work from all with support from police, ambulance and local authorities."

A fire service spokesperson said: "Ten fire engines and numerous specialist appliances responded to a fire involving a commercial premise on Warbreck Hill Road in Blackpool.

"Fire crews remain on scene."
