A Darwen woman, who made it to the semi-finals of MasterChef this year, is opening a pop-up stall today (June 7), featuring food she made on the show.

Cliodhna Gibson’s Mood Food pop-up stall will be held at The Globe Centre, in James Street, in Accrington, from 6.30pm today.

The menu features Cliodhna’s tacos, as well as her ‘famous’ taco gravy, which was praised by the BBC show’s judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

The tacos helped Cliodhna secure a place in the quarter-finals.

John and Gregg also had high praise for the dish saying they “loved the gravy”

Gregg said:“To me it tastes like food from a Mexican restaurant. You captured all of those flavours and I think this is lovely.”

Pulled beef brisket, pulled chipotle tacos, skin-on fries, beef taco gravy, and chicken taco gravy, are all on the menu.

Cliodhna said: “I wanted to make sure I get one of my dishes available to you guys before I go on tour next week and the tacos seemed like the best fit for my first one since reappearing on MasterChef.

“I’ll be opening at 6:30pm and once they’re gone, they’re gone - so get down quick I decided a Friday evening pop-up would be fitting as I had so many messages from people saying they couldn’t make the Saturday last time due to work commitments.”

From next week, Cliodhna is set to follow one of her favourite bands on tour, as part of their catering team, through a company called Rockpool Tour Catering.

Cliodhna said: “I have had quite a few [job opportunities and] offers. My Instagram followers increased. Famous chefs reach out asking to do pop-up events.

“My dream is to go on tour, cooking for famous bands and musicians – and I have managed to secure myself a position doing just that.

“I am going on tour with a very famous band that I have listened to since the age of 16.

“Cooking for John Torode and Gregg Wallace [MasterChef judges] was amazing to be able to cook for my favourite bands and musicians, and go on tour with them across the world, is the best thing ever.”
