This photo shows the final incarnation of one of Blackburn’s most well-known hotels.
Originally opened as the Saxon Inn in 1972, the hotel off Yew Tree Drive with its distinctive triangular-roofed entrance, would later be come the Moat House.
This picture shows it as the County Hotel, its third incarnation, and the name on the hotel when it closed for good. It was demolished in 2001 to make way for a housing estate.
When it first opened it was one of the most prestigious hotels in the area.
