A repeat offender claimed he burgled two commercial properties to buy food.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Peter Everall stole bank cards from one of the businesses and they had to be cancelled, causing inconvenience.
Everall, 51, of Fielden Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to burglary at Peri Legwear, Burnley, and Burnley Boys Club, Barden Lane, Burnley.
He was jailed for 36 weeks after the court heard he had already been recalled to prison on prison licence.
Graeme Tindall, prosecuting, said Peri Leggings was at the end of a cul-de-sac on an industrial estate which suggested a degree of targeting.
Kitty Shaw, mitigating, said her client had committed the offences for the sole purpose of buying food.
βHe actually believed the Burnley Boys Club was a food bank,β said Miss Shaw.
