In Lancashire, Jungle in Clitheroe is recommended.

What did the chef say about Jungle?

Lisa Goodwin-Allen, executive chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Northcote, said: “I love Jungle on the high street in Clitheroe. I go there a lot for brunch with my husband and my son.

“It's great value for money and just has a really cool, relaxed atmosphere, and they serve really tasty food. They have things like sweetcorn fritters with chilli jam and shakshuka with a falafel scotch egg on the menu.

“The dishes always have a twist to them. It also feels great to be able to give back to the brilliant independents on the local high street.”

Jungle has been praised on Tripadvisor by visitors, earning it a 4.5/5 star rating from 64 reviews, at the time of writing.

One visitor said: “Warm welcome. Lovely service. Great coffee and very good food (homemade beans with egg on sourdough). Spot on, all round. Can happily recommend.”

“Ramzan and Adam (the owners) and all their staff are just fab.

“Pop in for lunch - you’ll love it!”

A third said: “The best halloumi ever! I had the vegetarian breakfast but instead of avocado they offered me halloumi… amazing! This is my favourite place to eat and drink in Clitheroe. Well worth a visit!”

Another visitor informed others that although the restaurant is “cash only”, a cash point “is very close to the venue.”
