A man who was found carrying more than 13kg of cannabis in a suitcase has been jailed.

Yao Xian Lee, 29, was found with the suitcase full of drugs, worth more than £200,000 according to British Transport Police, at Preston railway station on April 30.

Lee, of no fixed abode, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday (May 29) for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

He pleaded guilty and Judge Richard Archer proceeded straight to sentence.

County Lines taskforce officers stopped a man at Preston station on April 30, saying it was one of the largest cannabis seizures they had made.

Lee was jailed for nine months and Judge Archer ordered the destruction of the drugs and the suitcase and the deprivation of £90 cash.
