A Lancashire hotel has been named one of the country’s best revamped seaside hotels.
Offshore opened back in March following a multi-million-pound amalgamation of the old Lindum and Carlton Hotels, and has been named among the 10 best hotels either newly opened or extensively renovated in a list compiled by the Guardian.
The 98-bedroom property in South Promenade, St Annes, has been steadily building its customer base with rapidly growing occupancy rates as people discover the hotel overlooking the seascape.
Offering a traditional pub downstairs, complete with an expansive terrace to make the most of its seaside location, The Guardian highlighted the varying sizes of the bedrooms, which include 19 single rooms; the sea views; and the all-day dining and drinks offering as highlights.
Offshore’s location was also cited as a reason to stay, as it is over the road from the sandy expanse of St Annes Beach and just a 15-minute drive from Blackpool.
With rooms available from £98.10 per night for bed and breakfast this summer, Offshore’s general manager, Sarah McIntosh, is hoping the recognition will encourage even more people to book a stay on the Lancashire coast.
She said: “It’s great to see our renovation recognised as one of the best in the UK and for us to be the only one listed in the North West.

“The refurb was extensive and we’re all very proud of our beautiful pub that has come out of it, so hopefully being named as one of the best 10 new or revamped seaside hotels will encourage people to book a stay with us this summer.
“Our occupancy levels are building nicely as people get to know us and we’ve seen lots of people coming down to try us out as one of the newest places to eat and drink in St Anne’s so it has been an encouraging start for Offshore.
“We’re anticipating a huge weekend over July’s Lytham Festival where we are already 80 per cent full over the four days and almost full on the Saturday evening, and are looking forward to a fabulous atmosphere around the event.”
Amanda Trott, the daughter of Peter Rowley, who operated the site for more than 60 years, was also highly impressed by the refurbishment.
Speaking at the time, she said: “Offshore looks great. It is totally different to what it was originally, but I love all of it and I’m looking forward to coming in, testing it out and having some food and drink soon.
“We obviously have many, many family memories having the Lindum as part of our family for so long, but it is very exciting to see the vibrancy of the new Offshore and it will be very exciting to see how it progresses business-wise.”
Offshore is located just a stone's throw from St Annes beach huts and the huge St Annes beach which stretches three miles along the Fylde coast, and is also just a short walk from other attractions in the seaside town including Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club and RSPB Fairhaven Lake
