Two men stole £1,200 in cash as well as tech items such as iPads and laptops in a burglary.
Lee Collier, 44, and Liam Jackson, 30, appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday (May 28) for the first day of their trial, where they admitted residential burglary.
Police were called to a house on Williams Lane in Preston just before 3am on November 21 to reports of a burglary.
The occupants of the house woke to find the front door open and items including iPads and laptops, as well as the cash, missing.
Shortly after, two men who had been seen nearby acting suspiciously were seen in a taxi.
When officers stopped the vehicle, one man was detained and another tried to run from the scene.
With the help of the drone team, he was arrested shortly after having been found hiding in nearby woods.
Upon searching the vehicle they were in, a metal bat was discovered.
Collier, of Kirkland Place, Preston, and Jackson, of Princes Street, Southport, were both jailed for three-and-a-half years.
