Firefighters from Lancashire remain in attendance at a fire in nearby Greater Manchester which started last night, Monday.

Six fire engines from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a derelict building fire in Belmont Road, Bromley Cross, Bolton, shortly before 11.30pm.

They attended along with a further six crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service as well as an air support unit and water bowser.

Crews remain in attendance monitoring hotspots having used jets, respirators, and pumps to extinguish the fire.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Six fire engines from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and six fire engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, along with an air support unit and water bowser attended an incident at Bromley Cross, Bolton.

"The fire involved a derelict commercial property approximately 80m x 10m. Crews used defensive jets, respirators, two handheld jets, and two light portable pumps.

"Firefighters remain in attendance monitoring hotspots."
