A car dealership has seen its plans for a new valeting area approved to improve its on-site offering.
Lloyds BMW, in Crown Way, Colne, can now construct its additional valeting facilities and photographic bay, where cars can be cleaned and checked over when they are ready to be put up for sale.
The site has an existing washing and valeting area, with the new addition being located in the showroom’s adjoining car park, with additional landscaping.
The new composite metal building is single-storey, with five shuttered bays and two open bays, plus an additional shuttered bay for car photography.
The landscaping, trees and shrubbery, and relocating of the valeting area in the car park, followed an objection from Colne Town Council, which said the facility “would not be a good look for a major gateway into the town”, with it being located just off Vivary Way.
Lancashire County Council’s highways department raised no objections to the plans, and on May 21, Pendle Council granted planning permission for the work to go ahead.
