Road closures are in place as the fire service tackle a house blaze in Whitworth today (May 21).
At the time of writing, the fire service is still in attendance and said road closures are in place.
Four fire engines, from Rawtenstall, Rochdale and Littleborough, were called to Thorburn Drive at around 2.21pm.
A fire service spokesperson said: “At 2.21 on May 21, four fire engines from Rawtenstall, Rochdale and Littleborough (the latter two of which are of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service), together with an aerial ladder platform and supporting pump from Hyndburn, attended a domestic building fire on Thorburn Drive, Whitworth, Rochdale.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, three jets, one high-pressure lance, and one positive-pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews currently remain in attendance.
“Road closures are in place, so please seek an alternative route.”
