Plans have been approved to place a "shepherds hut" to be used as holiday accommodation in the Ribble Valley.
Mrs Z Whitworth applied to the borough council in December for two huts to be put in the site of Bailey Cottages near Mitton.
The site is already used for holiday accommodation and the huts will provide an alternative place to stay.
The original plan was for two huts but the council has only granted approval for one.
The purpose-built unit is to be constructed by a local company.
A planning statement submitted to the council said: “The proposal seeks permission to place two ‘shepherds huts’ on the site.
"These are purpose-built one-bedroom holiday units providing a modest level of accommodation.
“The shepherds’ huts are constructed by a local company based in Ribchester called Wells Shepherds Huts.
"The proposed huts are constructed in timber and clad in corrugated steel with a mono-pitch steel corrugated roof.
“The huts are raised above the ground on wheels and have steps to access them. Examples of similar units can be seen on the company website.”
A small gravel area will be provided to the side of each hut for sitting out and there will be further gravel areas for parking and turning.
The council approved the plans subject to a number of conditions.
