One man has been arrested after video circulated of a brawl on a Blackburn street.
The footage showed two men squaring off in a street in the Audley area of the town. The CCTV shows a man swinging nunchucks, a martial arts weapon, and uses a large stick as by-standers attempt to diffuse the situation.
It is not known what the dispute was over. In further footage a man with nunchucks emerges from a corner shop and appears to attempt to attack another man who appears to be unarmed.
The video also shows a woman bravely attempting to break up the attack as a mother with children walks past the commotion.
Police said they were called to Audley Range, Blackburn, at 4.26pm yesterday (Wednesday) to reports of an ongoing fight.
A police spokesperson said: “A 35-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody.
“Further arrest enquiries are ongoing.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101. Quote log 1069 of May 8, 2024.”
