An inspirational 10-year-old is hoping to raise thousands for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Isla McHugh has partnered with Blackburn charity Benefit Mankind and has been volunteering to help the homeless and elderly.

She has now set her heart on climbing Mount Snowdon on Saturday, May 11, to support those with cancer.

Her campaign got off to a flying start as she hit the £1,000 mark within 48 of launching the appeal.

She is now determined to raise as much money as possible for the Teenage Cancer Trust through the trek up the highest peak in Wales.

Chief executive of Benefit Mankind, Dr Abdussamad Mulla said: “Witnessing the tireless dedication of 10-year-old Isla in her mission to assist teenagers confronting cancer is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

“As Isla prepares to conquer Mount Snowdon on May 11, let's rally behind her with unwavering support.

"Together, let's amplify our impact and extend a lifeline to those young souls who bear the weight of a cancer diagnosis."

“Every contribution, no matter how small, holds immense value to Isla.

"She wholeheartedly believes that even a single pound can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

“We want to be able to raise awareness about teenage cancer and generate vital funds to support the cause.”

Last December, Isla was part of a team of Brownies from St Francis Church in Blackburn who paid a visit to the Salvation Army where they distributed winter warm packs.
