Parking restrictions are in place at Pleasington Cemetery and Crematorium this afternoon (May 1).
The cemetery is expected to be very busy from 1.15pm until 4pm, due to a chapel service with expected “high attendance” followed by a burial.
The council has released a map, highlighting the parking restrictions in place.
Anyone visiting the site during these hours has been asked to park in the areas highlighted yellow and told not to park in areas marked in red.
The extension, past the red cross on the map, will be closed to vehicles.
According to the notice, parking in areas marked in red can cause a lot of damage to the grass and also cause vehicles to be blocked in.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Cemeteries and Crematorium said: “On May 1 we expect the cemetery to be very busy from 1.15pm to 4pm due to a chapel service taking place with high attendance, followed by a burial.
“If you are attending the Cemetery by vehicle during these hours, please park only in the areas highlighted yellow – seen on the map attached. Please do not park in any of the areas marked in red.
“The extension, past the red cross – will also be closed.
“Parking in areas marked in red causes a lot of damage to the grass and can cause vehicles to be blocked in and we hope you will help us in ensuring this doesn’t happen going forward.”
