Details have been revealed about this year’s Darwen Live festival, which is set to return at the end of May.

It promises to be another fantastic year at the free music festival, with an estimated attendance of 35,000 people.

Now in its 25th year, the festival takes place on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

The main stage will host  Tunde Baiyewu of the Lighthouse Family whose hits include Lifted, Ocean Drive and Goodbye Heartbreak. Tunde will be performing with his full band. 

Another headliner is 1990s indie band Echobelly best known for King of the Kerb and Great Things.   

Also on the main stage lineup is Fuzzbox (Pink Sunshine) and Eddie and the Hotrods (Do Anything you Wanna Do). 

Also performing are 80s rockabilly band The Jets, Kevin Davy White and Merry Hell. There is something for every music lover to enjoy, with genres including country, folk, rock, ska and indie, set to be performed. 

The Darwen Library Theatre, the official alternative stage at Sunbird Records, The Vaults, Level One Live, Tiki Taps, Artisan are among the venues taking part.

Merchandise will be made available, along with food and drink stalls and trampolines for children to enjoy.

Official merchandise will be available and there is an abundance of stalls selling food and local goods.

Once again the event is made possible by grants and sponsorship from both Blackburn with Darwen Council and and Darwen Town Council

A council spokesperson said: “We are excited to support another Darwen Live festival and appreciate the amount of hard work and effort that goes into making it such a success especially from such a small organisational team. 

"The festival reaches people far and wide with even overseas visitors now attending and that can only be a good thing for the traders and businesses in the town”
