Diversions are in place as a road in Guide is closed for several hours today, Thursday.
School Lane, between Haslingden Road and Blackamoor Road, will be shut from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
This is so the council can carry out pothole repairs.
Diversions are in place and motorists have been asked to use Shadworth Road and Haslingden Road to avoid the road closure.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Roads said: "Please be advised that today (April 25) School Lane will be closed between 9.30am until 3.30pm for pothole repairs.
“The closure (red) and diversion (blue) are shown on the map.”
According to the Blackburn with Darwen Council website, the public has been urged to report potholes or surface damage when spotted.
A spokesperson said the most dangerous potholes are repaired by the next day. The remainder should be repaired within four weeks.
A spokesperson said: “If you notice any potholes or surface damage to public roads or pavements please tell us about it.
“Potholes can quickly form in roads and pavements, particularly during the winter months.
“We prioritise all potholes so that the most dangerous ones are repaired by the next day. The remainder should be repaired within four weeks.
“When reporting potholes, please describe the nature and location of the pothole in as much detail as possible. It is useful to leave your contact details if we need to clarify the exact location of a fault.
“If the defect has been marked with white hazard paint it is already under investigation.
“If you are reporting a sinkhole that is hazardous or an immediate danger please call us on 01254 585585.”
