More than 500 people turned up to celebrate the reopening of a Lancashire pub, with a TV star also joining in as part of the official opening.
Offshore in Lytham St Annes is one of two pubs owned and operated by The Inn Collection Group, joining Morecambe’s Midland Hotel.
Officially opened by After the Flood star Jonas Armstrong in March, the pub has enjoyed an impressive first month since setting sail with its new look.
More than 500 people took up the offer of a welcome drink over the first week as a stream of customers flowed through the doors, sampling both the well-stocked bar and the freshly cooked pub-style dishes.
Fish and chips and the crispy fish bun proved to be the most popular plates from the kitchen, while more than 2,000 pints of just Madri and Guinness were sold.
Launching before the height of spring has seen a steady start to guests checking into one of the inn’s 98 new-look bedrooms, but the Easter weekend showed what Offshore can expect in the season, with 82 per cent average occupancy over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Sarah Macintosh, general manager at Offshore said: “It’s been a good start to life for Offshore and it has been great to see so many people coming down to try us out as one of the newest places to eat and drink in St Anne’s and see what we have done during the refurbishment.
“We had an excellent launch event that announced our return and since then the team have started to bed in and find their feet. We had a good Easter and we’re now looking forward and gearing up towards a busy summer.”
Ideally placed on St Anne’s South Promenade, Offshore is The Inn Collection Group’s largest property by number of bedrooms, with the stunning redevelopment of the old Lindum and Carlton hotels, creating an incredible 98-bedroom site.
Overlooking St Annes Pier with the Ribble Estuary beyond and two miles south of Blackpool, the original Lindum Hotel was the group’s first site purchased in Lancashire and was bought from operator HY Hotels in November 2020.
Granted planning permission for the renovations in March 2022, the transformation has created a cosy pub on the South Promenade with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views out over to the Irish Sea.
