An opticians has marked five years of serving the community with a celebration attended by a top civic guest.
Mayor of Pendle Councillor Brian Newman was guest of honour at Specsavers, based at the Sainsbury's in Windy Bank, Colne, for the anniversary event.
Since it opened in 2019, the opticians has carried out more than 25,000 eye tests and dispensed in excess of 32,000 pairs of glasses and contact lenses to local people.
Cllr Newman met the team at Specsavers and enjoyed a tour of the store.
He said: "Hearing and eyesight are incredibly precious and access to professional care services is a valuable part of our community.
"The store is a real asset to Colne."
Mark Addison, store director of Colne Specsavers, added: "We can’t quite believe it’s been five years since we first opened our doors, and we’re delighted that Cllr Newman was able to meet the team and mark the milestone.
‘We are locally owned and run, and are incredibly proud to be at the heart of our community, providing expert eye health and hearing care services."
As well as eye tests, Specsavers also provides hearing checks, aids and wax removal, and provides home tests for those unable to make it into store.
