A 67-year-old sex offender who was jailed for 15 years in 2013 for heinous crimes against children, including rape and sexual assault, has been jailed again, for making indecent images of young people.
David Jones appeared unrepresented at Burnley Crown Court after pleading guilty at a lower court to making 25 category C images of children (the least severe), in Nelson, between August 27, 2021, and September 9, 2022.
Jones, who had served his time at HMP Wymott in Leyland, was recalled to prison after his arrest and charge following the commission of these offences.
Judge Andrew Jefferies, KC, said: “You were released relatively recently, and the police discovered that you had come into possession of 25 category C photos of children.
“You accept that and pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court.”
Judge Jefferies jailed Jones for two months and ordered that his lifetime notification requirements and his lifetime sexual harm prevention order remain.
