Mosques and community groups are opening their doors to the wider community this Ramadan.
The evening Iftar is the time of day when people come together to open their fast and over the coming week a number of events are taking place.
A number of events have already taken place in the first two weeks of Ramadan which began on March 11.
On Tuesday (March 26) ‘The Grand Iftar’ is taking place in Blackburn.
Non-Muslims are invited to the Madina Mosque based on Oak Street to share in a meal with their neighbours.
People can attend anytime from 5pm with the meal served after 6.30pm.
The free event is part of ‘Taste Ramadan’, a national initiative that welcomes people from ‘all faiths and backgrounds interested in connecting with the community and learning about other cultures’.
On Wednesday (March 27) the Ghausia Masjid in Nelson will be hosting a community iftar where they will open up the mosque to the people of Pendle. Everyone is invited and the event is free.
The aim is to share a meal with people of other faiths or no faith, said the mosque.
A Ramadan Bazaar is taking place at Bangor Street Community Centre.
On Friday (March 29) Offload Northwest is hosting this ‘Late Night Extravaganza’ for families which will feature a range of stalls.
The aim is to bring the community together for gifts and treats they can share out for Eid. The event is free and runs from 8.30pm onwards.

Offload Northwest are a community group which host mental health awareness sessions at community centres across the borough.
The Al-Momineen Mosque, in Ash Street, is hosting an Iftar which aims to bring communities together and celebrate the ‘beauty of Ramadan’ on Saturday, March 30.
Food will be served to all guests when the daily fast breaks at around 6.45pm.
People are invited to attend from 5.15pm and hear from representatives of the mosque.
The mosque said if you are a Muslim attending this event, you must attend with a non-Muslim neighbour or colleague. This is a free event and open to all.
