Several cars have been towed away, and drivers have been reported to the DVLA, after they were abandoned on a ‘notorious’ street in Church.
Police attended Bridge Street, where parking issues and abandoned vehicles are a common issue.
On March 18, police and councillors removed seven vehicles that did not have MOT, tax or insurance. A total of 11 vehicles were reported to the DVLA for not being taxed.
A police spokesperson said: “Just a quick update to let you know about our recent activity on Bridge Street, Church yesterday.
“You may already be aware but parking and abandoned vehicles are a common issue on Bridge Street, so yesterday I went down with Hyndburn Council and we removed seven vehicles that had no MOT, tax or insurance and reported 11 vehicles to the DVLA for no tax.
“There are still quite a few vehicles on the street, we will continue to work on this street in the future with various partner agencies going forward.
“If you know of other problem areas/streets with many abandoned vehicles please [get in touch with police].”
